Tank Emergency 999
What a week?! I planned on it being a standard aquarium & pond maintenance kind of week.
However, on Wednesday I received a 999-emergency call to a very “over fed” Malawi tank.
Overnight the tank lost 3 fish. My initial tests showed a very high level of phosphates and an extremely chilly tank. The rescue process could now begin.
After a new heater installation and some South Coast Aquatics “know how” the tank is now stable and the phosphates are reduced to a safe level, the fish no longer have ice on their fins.
No more casualties at last! We have now started work on a new tank installation for a very enthusiastic “fish lady” and received the “go ahead” to restock one of the largest tanks on our books so far.
Happy fish keeping from the South Coast Aquatics team
